Tate Throndson is the senior pastor of Castleview Baptist Church in Castle Rock, Colorado, where he has served since planting the church in 2008. He and his wife, Debbie, have served together in full-time ministry for more than twenty-five years.
Over those years, ministry has meant far more than standing behind a pulpit. It has meant hospital rooms, funeral homes, difficult phone calls, counseling conversations, unanswered prayers, and sitting with people when there was no sentence that could make the hurt disappear.
Answers for a Broken Heart grows out of those moments. It was written for the person who needs something more substantial than a cliché and more personal than a textbook—the person awake at 2:00 a.m. asking questions they never expected to ask.
The goal is not to explain away your pain. It is to help you recognize the God who has been present in it all along.
Tate’s approach is intentionally pastoral and deeply rooted in Scripture. The hard questions are allowed to remain hard. Grief is not hurried. Doubt is not treated as a threat. Anger is not hidden behind religious language. And again and again, the path leads back to Jesus—the God who did not remain distant from suffering, but entered it.
